Quartz or automatic: what the listing word tells you
The first filter on any watch row is the movement. A quartz watch (石英, often 电池 for battery) uses a battery and a vibrating crystal. An automatic (自动机械, 机械表) has a rotor that winds the spring as your wrist moves, so it needs no battery and no charging. Hand-wound is rarer in sheets. Quartz is cheaper and steady; automatic costs more and has more to inspect.
A LitBuy spreadsheet row for a watch rarely says which it is in English, so read the Chinese title and the spec list. The grid above shows rows from the 10,000+ product catalogue behind this site. The table sorts the common types by price and estimated weight, with hypothetical prices converted at LitBuy's display rate of ¥1 ≈ €0.158 (27 October 2026), a rate higher than typical bank rates.
| Type | Movement | Example price | Est. kg | Alone to DE (€) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quartz analog | Battery | ¥150 | 0.30 | €46.78 |
| Dress watch | Battery | ¥200 | 0.30 | €54.68 |
| Digital sports | Battery | ¥90 | 0.30 | €37.30 |
| Automatic mechanical | Self-winding | ¥380 | 0.30 | €83.12 |
| Skeleton automatic | Self-winding | ¥450 | 0.30 | €94.18 |
All five fit the 500 g band at €23.08 all-in on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE (estimator reading, 27 October 2026), so the cheap row is mostly postage and the dear row mostly the watch.
Decide quartz or automatic first; the rest of the checks follow from it.
Case diameter, lug width and strap length in mm
Fit comes down to three measurements that Chinese listings give in mm: 表径 (case diameter), 表带宽 or 耳宽 (lug or strap width) and 表带长 (strap length). Case diameter excludes the crown. Lug width is the gap that the strap bar spans, so a replacement strap must match it exactly.
Strap length is often written as two numbers, such as 120+80 mm: the long and short halves. Their sum is the total length. Take a wrist measurement in mm with a paper strip, add the room the buckle needs, and compare. In a hypothetical case, a 170 mm wrist and a 120+80 strap leave 30 mm for the buckle and holes. Also check lug-to-lug, the length between the far ends of the lugs, because a watch with a modest case can still overhang a narrow wrist.
The size converter and the Chinese measurements guide cover the other cm and mm words you will meet.
Three numbers in mm decide the fit: case, lug width and strap length.
The euro maths: one watch, then two
Quartz ¥150 and automatic ¥380, Germany
Quartz alone: ¥150 × 0.158 = €23.70 + €23.08 (500 g band)€46.78
Automatic alone: ¥380 × 0.158 = €60.04 + €23.08€83.12
Two separate parcels€129.90
Together: ¥530 × 0.158 = €83.74 + €30.42 (est. 0.6 kg, 1 kg band)€114.16
Saved by one parcel€15.74
On the same 27 October readings, a 500 g parcel on FF-Royalmail-GB-1 for the UK was £11.06 and on ZF-GOFO-US-1 for the US was $25.55; at 1 kg they were £16.83 and $41.17. Neither showed a tariff prepayment. LitBuy's all-in figure for Germany adds a tariff prepayment of ¥40 per parcel. Test your own pair in the landed price calculator.
Two watches in a 1 kg parcel save about €15.74 over two single orders.
Batteries and restricted items, kept short
LitBuy's embargo text, read on 27 October 2026, says batteries, oils and adhesives may be removed from parcels. A quartz watch contains a button cell, so the battery may be taken out and the watch could arrive stopped. LitBuy does not publish a ruling for individual watches in what we read, so ask support before you order any battery-powered row. Magnetic components are on the prohibited list too, which is worth a question for a magnetic clasp.
Customs may detain goods suspected of infringing trademarks (EU Regulation 608/2013). That is a rule, not a prediction: if a dial or case shows a protected logo, the parcel can be held. Choose rows without logos if that risk matters to you.
Ask support about the battery before ordering a quartz row.
QC checks for a watch you cannot hold
Routine photos are generally three to six, and extra photos cost ¥1 each. LitBuy does not test electronics function, so no photo will confirm timekeeping. Use the photos for what they can show.
- Dial and hands. Hands should sit straight and clear the dial; a hand touching the glass shows up in a side photo.
- Crown and case back. A close-up shows crown alignment and engraving quality.
- Strap and holes. Check edge finish and that the lug width in the listing matches the strap bar.
- Size on a ruler. Ask for a case-diameter photo against a rule and compare with the listing's mm.
The QC photos guide shows when to ask for a retake.
Photos confirm looks and dimensions, never timekeeping.
Uhren for German buyers, and where rows come from
German searchers type "Uhren" and "Armbanduhr" beside the sheet name. For Germany, the economy DHL line read €23.08 at 500 g and €30.42 at 1 kg all-in on 27 October 2026; the Germany page lists the other lines. Watch rows usually come from creator link pages; read how TikTok creator sheets are built.
Fill a 500 g watch parcel with jewelry or caps and belts, and see light add-ons for the gap under the next band. No LitBuy account? Send the row to us via the WhatsApp QR on the contact page: one delivered price, photos before dispatch, pay per order.

Watch questions answered
Is a quartz or an automatic watch better to order from a sheet?
Quartz is simpler: a battery runs it, accuracy is steady and it needs no winding. Automatic movements wind from motion and drift by seconds a day, and they stop if left unworn for a couple of days. Automatic rows cost more, such as a hypothetical ¥380 against ¥150, so the postage is a smaller share of the total.
What is lug width, and why does it matter?
Lug width is the gap in mm between the two horns that hold the strap, and a strap must match it. Common sizes are 18, 20 and 22 mm, but listings state the number. A strap that is 2 mm too wide will not fit, and one that is too narrow leaves gaps. Buy a spare strap only after checking the mm figure.
How do I know whether a watch fits my wrist?
Compare three numbers in mm: case diameter, lug-to-lug distance and strap length. Wrap a paper strip around your wrist, mark the overlap and measure it. A strap listed as 120 plus 80 mm gives 200 mm in total, which leaves room on a 170 mm wrist. Large cases look bigger on thin wrists.
Will LitBuy check that a watch runs?
LitBuy opens the parcel, checks quantity, colour, size, specification and visible damage, and lists electronics function as not covered, which includes a watch that keeps time. You can request extra photos at ¥1 each, for example of the dial and crown, but a photo cannot show accuracy. Treat any timekeeping claim as the seller's.
Can a watch with a battery be shipped?
Per LitBuy's embargo text we read on 27 October 2026, batteries may be removed from parcels, and some lines restrict them. LitBuy does not publish a per-watch ruling in the pages we read. For a quartz or digital watch, ask LitBuy support before buying, and expect that the battery may be taken out.
How heavy is a watch for shipping?
We plan with an estimated 0.30 kg per watch, which is a planning assumption rather than a weighing. A boxed watch alone is therefore in the 500 g band, where LitBuy's all-in price to Germany was €23.08 on 27 October 2026. Two watches together, at about 0.6 kg, move into the 1,000 g band at €30.42.
