Seven bag styles that turn up in LitBuy sheets
Bag rows in a LitBuy spreadsheet fall into a handful of shapes, and each shape changes what you should check. The grid above shows rows from the 10,000+ product catalogue; the table below turns the common shapes into planning numbers. Prices are hypothetical examples, converted at LitBuy's display rate of ¥1 ≈ €0.158 (27 October 2026), which is higher than typical bank rates. The total at your checkout is the figure that counts.
| Style | Example price | Est. kg | Item in € | Alone to DE (€) | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daily backpack | ¥260 | 0.9 | €41.08 | €71.50 | Strap anchors, back panel padding |
| Commuter backpack | ¥320 | 0.9 | €50.56 | €80.98 | Laptop pocket size in cm |
| Tote bag | ¥120 | 0.8 | €18.96 | €49.38 | Handle stitching, inner zip |
| Crossbody bag | ¥150 | 0.8 | €23.70 | €54.12 | Strap length, buckle metal |
| Shoulder bag | ¥180 | 0.8 | €28.44 | €58.86 | Corner shape, lining colour |
| Duffel or gym bag | ¥220 | 0.8 | €34.76 | €65.18 | Base reinforcement, zip length |
| Sling bag | ¥90 | 0.8 | €14.22 | €44.64 | Small size can drop the weight band |
Every row above sits in the 1,000 g band, where LitBuy's all-in price was €30.42 on 27 October 2026. A small sling probably weighs less than our 0.8 kg estimate, which could move it into the 500 g band at €23.08, but the estimator only confirms that after the warehouse weighs it.
Shape decides the checks; the weight band decides the postage.
Reading the Chinese listing: cm, lining and hardware
Start with the size line. Chinese bag listings usually give 长 (length), 宽 (width, often the depth) and 高 (height) in cm, sometimes with a separate capacity in litres. Take the three numbers and multiply them for the box volume; if the seller lists only one, the row is hard to price and hard to judge. Ask yourself whether the bag fits what you carry, using a tape measure at home rather than the model photo.
Then look for the material words. 帆布 means canvas, 牛津布 Oxford cloth, 尼龙 nylon, 皮 leather, and 防水 means water-resistant. Hardware is often named too: 五金 for metal fittings, 拉链 for zip. A listing that names the zip maker or the lining fabric is giving you something to compare against the QC photos later. For a deeper look at units and size words, the guide to Chinese measurements in cm and the size converter cover clothing as well as bags.
Colour options appear as "styles" on LitBuy's product page. Check that the photo for your chosen colour is the one the seller shows, because some stores reuse one picture for every colour.
A row with three dimensions, a named lining and a named zip is worth opening; one with none of them is a guess.
Euro maths: one bag alone against two bags together
We ran LitBuy's estimator on 27 October 2026 for the LIT-Economy-DHL-DE line, which LitBuy labels tax free. Its all-in prices, including the EU tariff prepayment, were €23.08 for 500 g, €30.42 for 1 kg and €45.09 for 2 kg. Rule: take the smallest band at or above the estimated weight, then add the item price converted to euros. The worked example below uses hypothetical prices.
A ¥260 backpack and a ¥180 shoulder bag, Germany
Backpack alone: ¥260 × 0.158 = €41.08 + €30.42 (1 kg band)€71.50
Shoulder bag alone: ¥180 × 0.158 = €28.44 + €30.42 (1 kg band)€58.86
Two separate parcels€130.36
Together: ¥440 × 0.158 = €69.52 + €45.09 (est. 1.7 kg, 2 kg band)€114.61
Saved by combining€15.75
For the same weight bands, shipping alone on LitBuy's UK and US lines was £16.83 and $41.17 per kilo on FF-Royalmail-GB-1 and ZF-GOFO-US-1; at 2 kg it was £28.38 and $72.41. Those lines show no tariff prepayment. The fee detail lives in the landed price calculator, which is the right place to test your own bag.
Two bags in one 2 kg parcel cost about €57.30 each delivered, against €58.86 and €71.50 alone.
What to look at in the QC photos of a bag
LitBuy takes routine photos on arrival, generally three to six: front, back, side and logo area. Extra custom photos cost ¥1 each. Only footwear gets the ¥7 video, so a bag never does. LitBuy checks quantity, colour, size and visible damage; it does not cover colour difference or wear effect. There is no public QC gallery on litbuy.com, so your photos appear in your own account.
- Front and back. Compare the shape with the seller's photo. A slumped front on an empty bag often means thin foam.
- Strap anchors. Ask for one extra photo of each anchor point, since this is where loads concentrate.
- Inside. Request an open-bag photo showing the lining and any pocket seams.
- Zip run. A photo with the zip half open shows whether teeth line up.
- Ruler photo. Ask for the longest side against a tape, then compare with the listing's cm figure.
The QC photos guide explains when to ask for a retake, and the QC finder shows where else to find photos of the same row before you buy.
Ask for the strap anchor and the open-bag photo; those two show most of what goes wrong.
Filling the parcel around a bag
A bag takes up volume more than weight, so it is a good anchor for a mixed parcel. At an estimated 0.8 kg it leaves about 200 g of room under the 1 kg band, enough for a cap (est. 0.15 kg) or a phone case (est. 0.08 kg) at the cost of the item only. See light add-ons under 200 g for rows that fit that gap, and the combine parcels guide for how LitBuy recalculates on the chargeable weight after packing.
Related categories that pair naturally: caps and belts, jewelry and watches.
Use the spare 200 g under a bag for a light item, not a second bag.
Where bag rows come from, and a note for Germany
Bag rows reach spreadsheets mostly from creator link pages and haul-tracker sheets; see TikTok creator sheets and Reddit sheets for how those are built and which columns to expect. A link from either can be rebuilt as a LitBuy link from the item ID: LitBuy product URLs follow https://www.litbuy.com/product/<code>/<item id>, with 1 for Taobao, 2 for Weidian and 0 for 1688.
For Germany, the row price is only one part of the parcel: import VAT of 19% applies from the first euro. On LitBuy's tax-free lines LitBuy handles duty and VAT, and the estimator adds a tariff prepayment of ¥40 per parcel (27 October 2026) for its flat €3 duty charge and the €2 EU processing fee. The Germany page lists the lines. No LitBuy account? Send the row to us via the WhatsApp QR on the contact page: one delivered price, photos before dispatch, pay per order.
Rebuild any bag link from its item ID, then price it by weight band.
Bag and backpack questions
How do I know a bag will fit a laptop from the listing?
Look for internal dimensions in cm, not just the outer size. As a rule of thumb a 15-inch laptop is about 36 by 25 cm, so a pocket listed at 38 by 28 cm or larger is the number you want. If the seller gives only a litre figure, ask for a photo with a measuring tape before you pay, or pick another row.
How much does a backpack weigh for shipping?
We plan with an estimated 0.9 kg for a backpack and 0.8 kg for other bags, which are assumptions rather than measurements. Both fall in the 1,000 g band, where LitBuy's all-in estimator price to Germany was €30.42 on 27 October 2026. A canvas tote may weigh less, so the real parcel weight can differ.
Are two bags cheaper to ship than one at a time?
Usually yes per bag. With our estimated weights, a ¥260 backpack and a ¥180 bag shipped together weigh about 1.7 kg and cost €114.61 delivered to Germany. Shipped alone, the same two come to €130.36. The saving is €15.75, and it comes from sharing one shipping fee and one EU parcel charge.
Which hardware details matter in bag photos?
Zips, buckles and strap anchors are where cheap bags fail first. Check that the zip pull sits flat, the stitching at strap ends runs in a tight box or cross pattern, and edge paint is even. LitBuy's routine photos are generally three to six, and extra photos cost ¥1 each, so ask for a close-up of one strap anchor.
Can LitBuy tell me if a bag is real leather?
No. LitBuy checks quantity, colour, size, specification and visible damage, and says it cannot verify quality or authenticity. Material claims in a Chinese listing are the seller's words. If leather matters to you, choose a row with close-up photos of the cut edge and the lining, and treat the material label as unconfirmed.
Does a bag count as volumetric weight?
It can. Most DHL tax-free lines divide length times width times height in cm by 8000, and you pay the larger of actual and volumetric weight. A boxed 50 by 40 by 30 cm duffel gives 7.5 kg volumetric, far above its estimated 0.8 kg actual weight. LitBuy does not publish a flat-packing option, so judge by the box size in cm.
